Amateurs, lovers of experiences that resonate, welcome.

Let me share some ideas/tips to make the most of your Safari! I will share general advice as well as some more specific tips about Tanzania, where we operate. Free Quote.

Plan :

Weather:

In general, it is not recommended to make this trip during the rainy season (from March to May in Tanzania); it depends on your destination, and this information is easily accessible on the internet.

The weather is therefore one of the main elements to consider when planning. This should of course influence your outfits.

Clothing

Don't forget that it can also be cool in Africa; having a vest for the early hours of the day can be useful. In short: have clothing suitable for the weather.

Not wearing fluorescent clothing is also necessary because you will be immersed in nature; the less you disturb it, the more chances you will have to enjoy the experience.

In this register, a few logical but key points:

  • Exhibit appropriate behavior: do not shout or whistle at the animals. Respect the environment; nothing should come out of the vehicles in the parks, neither you nor your waste.
  • Trust your guide and do not hesitate to communicate with him. Whether it's for information about your travel time, the surrounding nature, or anything else, you will be with professionals who have real-world experience. He will be responsible for his vehicle as well as for you, so never exit the vehicle without his permission.

Also think about your comfort. A pair of flip-flops, a travel pillow, sunglasses, snacks between meals, sunscreen, a pair of headphones, a portable charger, swimsuit according to the lodge ...

You need to organize yourself as if for a long car trip, feel free to bring your little comforts (in reasonable amounts). Most of the time, we, as a travel organization, offer meal and drink packages included: no need to bring your sodas, just ask for them in advance!

Choose the parks you will visit based on your expectations.

Let me explain:

Some parks shelter more elephants (Tarangire in Tanzania), others more felines, etc.

If you have a hard time with long car distances, it is often possible to book your flight to land as close to a park as possible.

So be as precise as possible when planning.

There is an increasing demand for one-day safaris. -> In this case, I recommend choosing the "smaller" parks to optimize your chances of seeing animals (in Tanzania, Tarangire or Ngorongoro will amaze you in one day, from Zanzibar -> Mikumi)

This is not a ranking of the best parks but rather a recommendation for those looking for a short trip. To grasp the size of the ecosystems: Selous = 50,000 km², Switzerland = 41,285 km², or the Serengeti, which is roughly the size of Belgium! For these large parks, it is really worthwhile to take several days to explore.

And now the big question:

What to expect on a Safari?

Don't focus on just one thing. The important thing is to maintain a positive energy; it may be cliché, but you would be surprised at how much more easily customers who are only looking for a specific animal leave disappointed compared to those who are not.

In truth, you will be immersed in an authentic and mostly untouched nature. It is a complete experience and an invitation to connect with nature, so enjoy!

In the worst-case scenario, all the animals will be far away or invisible, and you will feel alone in the middle of the savanna.

In the best case, in addition to having seen all the animals you dreamed of seeing one day in the wild, you will have a sense of connection with nature that you could neither plan nor imagine.
